On September 6, 2018, Nanaimo City Council voted in favour of rezoning Marcielo, a 24-storey mixed-use building at 65 and 77 Chapel, Nanaimo, BC. This new development will feature 107 units of boutique condos and townhouses bringing gorgeous, luxury living to Nanaimo’s waterfront harbour.
Developed by the Wertman Development Corporation and designed by Peter de Hoog at de Hoog & Kierulf architects, the new building will be a combination of residential condo units, townhouse units, as well as ground-floor commercial building and office space. To further contribute to the community, The Wertman Development Corporation will be providing $38,000 worth of public art as on-site amenity for the building, as well as a community contribution of $144,000 towards the Housing Legacy Reserve Fund ($72,200) and Maffeo Sutton Park ($72,200).
